A GREAT FESTIVAL IN NEWCASTLE
The Vodacom Winter Festival will kick off on 25 April, with something for everyone.

The Festival organisers are preparing for a record number of visitors this year. Sanlam and SABC2 are the sponsors of the schools programme, which is expected to be attended by 14 000 children - an all-time high ! Takalani Sesami en Dub will make sure that the children are entertained on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Festival programme will once again make provision for the young and the old, with a Fun Fair, Ice Rink, and Flower & Art exhibition in the Chubb Hall sponsored by Car Track and Nashua, and great excitement in the Standard Bank Agricultural Arena.

In addition to the more than 400 exhibitors, visitors can look forward to the activities in the Century Casino Arena. From Wednesday to Saturday evening high-quality entertainment will be presented.

Mr and Miss Vodacom Winter Festival will be crowned on Wednesday evening and on Thursday there will be a Lotus FM Bhangra. At 2 o'clock on Friday, 27 April, there will be a performance by the well-known singer Bok van Blerk, followed by our own "Leeuloop" with Robbie Wessels and a performance by the well-known group Watershed later that evening. Saturday will provide great excitement with a Netcare 082911 hostage drama, a visit by "7de Laan" actors, and a Super Star Reunion with Shaun Tait, Nadine and Dozi.

On Saturday there will be a Fireworks display and pet owners are requested to contact their local vet with regard to treatment to prevent their animals from becoming stressed during the fireworks the display starting at 8 o ‘ clock the evening.

Starting Thursday evening, Vodacom will be giving away airtime to the total value of R20 000, so make sure you attend every performance to stand a chance of winning some of this airtime.
