His first, self-titled album, reached Platinum last year. Parow says “thank you for all the support! It’s amazing; I am so glad. Next stop - Platinum!”

The first single from the album, Hosh Tokolosh, with Gazelle, is enjoying massive airtime on radio stations country-wide and was the first Afrikaans single to reach Number 1 on 5FM’s Top 40 in recent history.

Hard Partytjie Hou video to be released soon

The music video for the next single from EKSIE OU, Hard Partytjie Hou featuring Francois van Coke, will premiere on MK’s Studio 1 next Thursday evening, so kyk uit! Jack Parow was recently nominated for a South African Music Award in the category, Best Street Urban Album, along with other great Hop Hop artists such as HHP and AKA. Parow is excited about this: “It feels gangster to be nominated in this category. I am happy to be nominated and hopefully I can take this trophy home, Masekinners!”

Parow hosted the MK Awards this past weekend and he says that it was “very cool, but very nerve-wracking.” He watched the show afterwards and he didn’t “cringe too much, so it went all right, I guess.”

He also won the MK Award for Best Hipster at this ceremony. “It’s kinda mal, but I’m glad about winning the award. I think hipsters all over the country are freaking out and are running around looking for vests and shorts. Thanks to everyone who voted. You are my maatjies!” says Parow.
